A HUGE thanks to Michael & Jana who captured some video footage of Nate to send us. Only 20 more days until we will hold him in our arms...

Traveling Soon!
We will be traveling to Ethiopia in 3 weeks. We are thankful that the holidays are here and that these weeks will fly by as we prepare for our trip. Now that Nate is legally ours, it makes it even harder to wait to see him, hold him, and bring him into our family forever.
I had a quick question for all of you who have already traveled. We would like to stay in a guesthouse so we do not have to leave Nate at the foster home during our stay; however, the Ayat house is already booked! Any other good options??

Court Date... Check!
Our adoption was approved today in Ethiopia. We are officially and legally Nathanael's parents. It was one year ago today that we called Gladney to start this process. And now, we have a precious little boy. We are so thankful to our Father for this gift!
We will be traveling to Ethiopia in January with the exact dates to be determined. Finally, here is a slideshow with COMPLETE photos of our son. Enjoy!

(We know that many families had court dates today. We are praying for all of you to receive good news soon!)

Update at 7 Months
"Nathanael has continued his steady growth and is looking good. He is a very active little man. He is constantly moving, playing with toys, looking at the pictures in the picture book, and trying to see who is talking or where noises are coming from. Get your rest before you come… he is going to keep you busy! ☺"We received this update on Nathanael yesterday. He weighs a little over 16 lbs and will be 7 months old tomorrow. We checked his weight with the health standards chart and he is in the 10th percentile. I thought that was pretty good and am confident that he will gain weight quickly once he comes home.
A little info about our court date:
It is next Wednesday in Ethiopia. We do NOT travel for our court hearing, so we will be at home waiting by the phone for the call of approval. Approval means that Nate is legally ours! If we are approved, we will receive our travel date to Ethiopia in the next few days. The travel date will be 2 to 4 weeks from Wednesday. Then we will pack, travel, and pick up our son. There is always a chance that we will not get approved on the first court date. This could be due to a signature missing, a piece of paperwork missing, or the court workers not showing up for the hearing. If this happens, we will have to wait for another court date which could be a month or several months away. This would make our wait for Nate much longer, so please keep us in your prayers this Wednesday and pray that our adoption receives quick approval.

More Sneak Peeks

A special thanks to Jana and Michael for delivering our care package to Nate and sending us these photos. They just returned home from Ethiopia with their daughter Ruthie.
9 more days until our court date! Please pray for a quick approval of our adoption on that day so we can travel soon to pick up our son.
