From Austin to Africa!

Well, we thought we would share some exciting news with you. In about a year, God-willing, we will be leaving Austin and moving to Soddo, Ethiopia! We have officially joined the staff of ReachGlobal, and have begun raising financial support for this next exciting chapter of our lives. I will be working in the Outpatient Department (sort of like an ER) in the Soddo Christian Hospital. The aim of SCH is to provide high quality medical care as well as minister to the spiritual needs of patients. They also seek to train national resident physicians in order to create a sustainable, skilled workforce in Ethiopia. I am so excited about the opportunity to invest in the future doctors of Africa in this way. Some other projects we'll be working on will be a community health initiative and a children's home. These are partnerships with other ministries working in Soddo, and we'll be sharing more about those as the details unfold.
